That same year, she joined the research group LEPABE at FEUP as a researcher on the Power2Methane project. In 2019 started her PhD study entitled “Study of a hybrid sorption-reaction process for CO2 capture and methanation: Power-to-Gas concept” at the LEPABE research group (currently integrated into ALiCE) at FEUP. Her main research interests focus on sorption and membrane separations, heterogeneous catalysis and modelling & simulation of multifunctional reactors. She is the author/co-author of 5 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and 7 papers in conference proceedings.
Friedemann Mörs
DVGW Research Center at Engler-Bunte Institute
Mr. Mörs has been employed at the DVGW Research Center at the Engler-Bunte Institute (DVGW-EBI) since 2014 and is currently leader of the process engineering working group.
He studied process engineering at the OVGU in Magdeburg and completed his studies with a master’s degree in chemical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). As a PhD student at KIT/DVGW-EBI, his main topic was “Hydrodynamics in Bubble Column Reactors”. In addition, Mr. Mörs was responsible for national and international projects on the development and technical and economic evaluation of power-to-gas processes. The aim of the process engineering group is the development and implementation of solutions for a sustainable energy supply and the transfer of industrial processes towards carbon neutrality. As group leader, Mr. Mörs is responsible for the implementation of research and demonstration projects and the transfer of knowledge and experience from research to active consulting of commercial enterprises.
Robert Farrauto
Columbia University
Robert (Bob) Farrauto, PhD, utilizes his 40 years of industrial catalysis experience to train graduate and undergraduate students in applied environmental catalysis.
His primary industrial experience was in automotive emission control. Upon retiring in 2012 from BASF (USA) as a Vice President of Research, he was appointed Professor of Professional Practice in the Earth and Environmental Engineering (EEE) Department of Columbia University in the City of New York. His group’s research focuses on direct air capture of ambient CO2 and catalytic conversion to useful chemicals. Bob is the author (co-author) of 140 journal publications and 56 US patents. He has a Google scholar rating of 53 and has six major awards for research and teaching. He has a BS from Manhattan College and PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic institute.
Joana Martins
ALiCE - FEUP
In 2018, Joana Martins finished her Master in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
In the following year, she integrated the Power2Methane project (at LEPABE – FEUP) where she developed her knowledge and interest in the fields of carbon capture and valorization, adsorption and catalysis (namely CO2 methanation), multi-functional reactors, biogas and biomethane, and Power-to-Gas technology.
